Zoë Chiara is currently based in Paris. In her work she engages with the concepts of abstraction, objectification and a personal understanding of perversion. Applying these concepts she strives to distill subjects down to their quintessential cores in pursuit of constructing new forms and finding aesthetic pleasure. This exploration allows to see beyond the surface, unveiling a deeper beauty and essence of each subject. The idea of perversion, which is understood as a distortion from an original state or meaning, as well as the joy of objectification play an important role in her work; Those concepts expand and push the boundaries of perception, offering liberation from bias and create shapes and forms that emerge organically. Guided by instinct, she embraces deconstruction, reconstruction, and fragmentation as fundamental parts of her artistic journey. Through the creation of photographic sculptures and by fetishizing the medium of photography itself, she constructs voids or spaces, inviting the audience to mentally inhabit these gaps and fill with their own interpretation.
